Incredible Idea!

We will have to give it to the Mallus when it comes to promoting their state in every conceivable way as a tourist destination. They pioneered houseboat tourism, medical (ayurveda) tourism, election tourism, monsoon tourism, etc and Kerala's previous UDF govt wanted to promote new products like pilgrim tourism, adventure tourism and farm tourism.

Maybe Kerala doesn't have slums otherwise Delhi's latest touristic offering would have been pioneered by the Mallus too! With 260 million Indians still below the poverty line, slum tourism has bright prospects ahead.

Of course it is sickening but if this can provide these people with a livelihood and can lift them up from grinding poverty then we must swallow our pride and welcome this.
